This week's mix is designed to be filling like a big Sunday dinner. It's got lots of unusual flavors that meld together into a exciting musical melange. It's a bit disco and uplifting and dancy, which is unusual for a Sunday I suppose, but it's meant to pick up your spirits despite the fact the weekend is coming to a close. There is a little fun treat hidden in there which is a song from an old band I was in that has since been re-jigged into a song for my current band. Ooooh sneaky. Apologies, but I have been in the midst of doing a million projects as of late. Usually I find the time to do it all, but instead I've been doing more sleeping than usual, hence having less time for project number one million and one. For that reason, today's scheduled mix will be a bit tardy.
BUT, I do have the mix all planned and worked out, so while it won't be a Friday mix, you will get it soon...
In the meantime, I can offer you a listen of my brand new radio show for Radio Nowhere.
It's That's right, Love Action's Friday Mixtape has given birth to Love Action's Friday Fix, a brand new Internet radio show bringing you an hour of music to help get your weekend started. Last week I gave you love... so it's only fair that I give you some songs from the other side, the heartbreak side. That's right, this is a mixtape chock full of anti-love songs for the cynic that lives inside all of us. Come on, life isn't all roses and chocolates.
So settle yourself into your couch, grab that tub of Ben & Jerry's and the remote, and have an anti-love night all to yourself. You can download the m4a by clicking here Or listen straight away by streaming in the player below:

I've never been a big sap that's worried about Valentines Day traditions. Yeah I'm guilty of being smug and in a relationship and all, but I'm a bigger fan of romantic gestures that aren't suggested by a card company or restaurant offering a prix fixe.
BUT
I do love a good love song, and what better time to let my inner sap who enjoys romantic music come out but at Saint Valentines... right? So here you go. Go on and burn it on a CD for that someone special and pretend you made the mixtape yerself... (except for that bit where I talk at the start... so maybe nevermind)
Anyways, enjoy all you lovers and non-lovers and wannabe lovers... this mix is for you

This week's mix demonstrates, without a doubt, that my taste is quite varied - starting with an oh so brand new remix of Noah & The Whale, before descending into a spangly cowbell-laden disco section, until moving into garage music, new & old, and then finishing off with some trusty girl groups. Dreamy electro? Yep. Shameless disco. Uh huh. Cher? Sure! Belarussian Garage? Well of course!
Nope, there is no overall theme here, except that, YAY! It's the weekend once again. However I have noticed (quite accidentally) a few oddities between the varying tracks & genres. George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic produced one of the more girly-girl group tracks, and of course, there is a very young Cher in there sounding very Specterific and looking very Joanne from the Human League. Indeed.
I might have some news coming up in the next few days about my mixtapes which involves presenting a lil monthly Internet radio show... watch this space!
Included in the mix this week: 1. Noah & The Whale - Love of an Orchestra (Nightwaves Remix) 2. Class Action - Weekend 3. Andrea True Connection - More More More 4. Nick Glider - Hot Child in the City 5. Surfer Blood - Floating Vibes 6. The Stampletons - Pretty Little Girl 7. The Phoenix - Every Now And Then I Cry 8. Pat Lewis - Look What I Almost Missed 9. Cher - Dream Baby 10. Yvonne Prenosilova - When My Baby Cries
When it doesn't, you want to start pulling out your hair and you begin babbling about how much stuff you have to do and how you'll never meet this deadline etc. etc. etc.
Well, I've been attempting to upload today's mixtape for approximately 3.5 hours. I can't connect to my iDisk, I can't upload to Soundcloud. Hell, I can't even get RapidShare or MediaFire to work. I'm assuming it's my upload connection. It appears to grind to a halt once 2mb gets up there. Like, completely. Grinds. To. A Halt.
I don't think I have a limit, I can only assume there is either something fucked with my ISP, or maybe someone else on the same ISP is uploading some mega-huge files. Either way, I apologize. I have no other method for giving you this week's mix.
Your weekly mixtape of musical Love Action. Each week I put together a mix of ten songs I'm loving at the moment. Expect a lil something every Friday morning which will hopefully put a smile on your face, possibly introduce some music you've never heard, or simply re-introduce some old classics we all love.
